"The supply chain must be enhanced, more structured, and must rely on tech solutions" - Testimonial from the Director of Operations at Gémo

In an interview with Républik Supply, Jean-Michel Fabre, Director of Operations at Gémo, a brand of the Eram Group, details how the fashion group has decided to modernize its supply chain to meet the new challenges of retail and effectively support the brand's strong evolution internationally and digitally. This operational transformation is notably supported by a comprehensive renovation of its information systems, with the deployment of Winddle for product flow management.

Ensuring end-to-end continuity of the supply chain

Jean-Michel Fabre emphasizes the importance of continuity. For Gémo's supply chain organization to be efficient, it is crucial to have visibility and smoothness throughout all operations, from product development, procurement ordering, to delivery and reaching the point of sale.

This end-to-end management, without information gaps and with reliable data, is necessary to improve forecasting and flow execution, and ultimately optimize customer satisfaction downstream.

The need to focus on collaboration

As mentioned by Jean-Michel Fabre, this goal of breaking down silos in the supply chain can only be achieved through a collaborative approach. The alignment and capacity of different stakeholders in the chain, both internal and external, make the difference.

The Winddle platform will be used by the Procurement & Purchasing, Quality, Transportation, Logistics, and Controlling teams, as well as by suppliers, quality service providers, and carriers.

Driving performance

Jean-Michel Fabre highlights the performance indicators (lead times, delays, cadences, costs, etc.) that the Eram Group will be able to rely on with Winddle to effectively measure business performance and define necessary action plans.

This analytical and strategic approach contributes to the value of the Supply function, with teams that are now freed from low-value tasks and equipped with the right tools to focus on their core expertise.

"We need true specialists in flow and inventory management"

In a highly volatile context, both in terms of lead times and costs (Covid, transportation constraints, significant fluctuations in freight rates, etc.), Jean-Michel Fabre emphasizes the importance of having real-time visibility into merchandise flows to be responsive and make the right operational decisions in a context where flows and activity rhythms have never been so complex.

Implementing Winddle enables Supply teams to become more skilled, structured, and fulfill their fundamental role in business success.
